John's parents have a boat in North Carolina, so one day we went to the Intercoastal water-way and spent part of the day boating. We had a great time. I didn't grow up with a boat but we had friends that invited us to Lake Powell every year. I love boating and back then I always thought I wanted to have a boat someday, but I guess I have too much Gunther in me. Now although I love the feeling of zooming along in a boat with the warm sun on you and the wind blowing your hair, I have decided that owning a boat is too much money and work. I would like to rent a boat every once in awhile, so we need to put that on our list of things to do every summer.
Joshua and Grandpa H. went out for some fishing, while we set up a tent for the day. Which we ended up using, but not to keep the sun off of us. A storm ended up rolling earlier than we would have liked. It gave us a little scare since the storm included lighting, so we ended up high tailing it out of there. We couldn't decide which was safer or more dangerous. Staying on the beach under a metal tent or zipping across the water in a boat. We opted for the boat.
We did have enough time for everyone to enjoy a ride on the tube. I love tube pictures, they show pure joy and grit determination to stay on. So I included a bunch of them. I love the expressions.
Pure joy.
Concentration.
Excitement.
Determination.
Will power.
Thinking we are pretty cool, notice we are still close to shore.
Ok, this is tougher than I thought it would be.
I don't remember it being this hard.
Holding on for dear life. I did not want to get thrown from the tube.
I love Hannah and Caroline's faces in the next couple of pictures.
That big ugly cloud quickly encroached on our fun.
We had a great day and it made me rethink my opinion on a boat. Don't think we will do it anytime soon, but we did have a lot fun, I only wish we would have been able to stay long enough for the girls to try water skiing.

LOVE the pics! Your are so right about tubing pictures...the facial expressions are priceless. When I ask my kids what their favorite part of our Tahoe trip was, they all choose tubing. Ice cold water but worth it!
