Finishing Up North Carolina

Finishing up on North Carolina we spent another warm sunny day at the beach and one day taking the ferry down to Southport.  Southport is a great little beach town.  We drive to Kure Beach and take the ferry across to Southport then we usually have lunch down there and then drive home.  It makes for a fun little adventure.  We have seen dolphins before on our ferry ride but we didn't have any luck this year.  Kim took the girls down earlier in the day because they were filming for a movie that day.  They were staging a Fourth of July parade and needed lots of extras.  We met them later in the day and had lunch at a little hot dog stand before we headed back.

Some of them stuck around long enough to meet Julianne Hough.  Kim always seem to  be in the right place to meet people.

Thursday night we went down to Carolina Beach to watch the fireworks on the beach.  Every Thursday for the entire summer they put on a fireworks show.  We ate a dinner of Frank's pizza and Brit's doughnuts.  Not the healthiest meal, but a tasty tradition. I don't have any pictures from this night but we had a good time despite the windy weather.
On our final day in North Carolina John and his dad got up at 6:00 to ride their bikes to Bald Head Island. They have to go when it is low tide so they can ride all the way to the island.  They got back to Carolina Beach about  1:00 and we met them there for a few hours at the beach before we headed home to do laundry and pack things up.  On to our next part of the adventure

It doesn't surprise me a bit that you would run into a celebrity! Leave it to Kim indeed :) Why didn't we talk about your trip when we were there on Friday?? Looks like tons of memories were made!
