The picture shoot started off in the early evening when I started begging everyone to go get ready so we could go to the beach to take some pictures. It was a Sunday and I figured it would be the perfect time to take pictures since it wouldn't be interrupting any of their play time. I don't know why they didn't jump at the chance to go take pictures.
The girls did step in to help Joshua and Benjamin with their hair. This is how Josh felt about getting his hair fixed for pictures.
Benjamin was perplexed, as was I, with his hair. Oh, he makes me laugh.
After finally getting everyone's hair fixed and clean, somewhat coordinating clothes on we headed for the beach in this. Not a good idea. I warned the girls that it would wreak havoc on their hair, but they didn't care. Of course they didn't. They didn't even want to go take pictures.
So when we finally go to the beach the light was perfect, there weren't a lot of people around, but the wind was blowing. So it ended up being a lot of windblown hair. Not a good look. Notice all the beautiful curls are gone. We were left with stringy, blowing hair. Oh well.
We also had too many adults trying to get everyone to look at the camera so 90% of the pictures have everyone looking in a different direction. But isn't that light beautiful.
Then their was the issue of getting the kids to cooperate. No one was that interested in doing what mom asked.
So this is how the day ended with wet clothes playing in the sand. Maybe another time.
Out of all the pictures, I did like this one of Grace. One out of 150 is what I should have expected. I aim too high on family picture day.
