Harp Camp

This summer Caroline got to attend a week long Suzuki harp camp at the University of Utah.  Everyday we would leave the house at 7 am and drive up to Salt Lake City where she would participate in different harp classes until 4 in the afternoon.

She was such a trooper.  They were long days.  She had two group lessons a day, a rhythm class, a theory class, an arts and crafts class, and one private lesson.  Not one day did she complain about having to get up early and go.  Caroline is not a complainer and I love that about her.

I loved all the one on one time that we got together.  Two hours in the car and then I would sit in on all of her lessons.  I had a lot of fun with her.  I went with her two days, Grandma G. went one day, her teacher went one day, and Grandma H. went one day.  I don't get very much one on one time with five kids under the age of 12 so to have her for two days, kind of to myself, was bliss.  It was also fun because we got to meet other harpists and their mothers from all over the state.

I didn't remember to bring my camera so here are a few pictures taken with the ipod.  Unfortunately I didn't get any close ups of her playing the harp, but you get the idea. She is the one in the back playing the black harp
