4th of July

This summer we had a lot of wild fires.  Every week there were stories of new wild fires.  This fire was in Alpine just a few miles from our house.  Far enough that it wasn't a danger, but close enough that the air was smoky and yucky.  Amazingly no homes were lost in this wild fire.

Fireworks were banned in Highland and Alpine and parts of Cedar Hills, but that didn't stop our neighbors from putting on a nice show for us.

They spared no expense, which was great for us.  Personally I find spending money on fire works a big waste of money, but I am more than happy to watch my neighbors waste their money. :)

So was this happy boy.  We went to a neighborhood party earlier in the afternoon.  Then Joshua and I sat out on the front porch and watched fireworks.  He loved them, which was a big change from last year when he hid underneath the blanket the entire time.
Happy 4th of July!  To a great country and a great boy!
