Another Family Christmas Party

Every year my mom's family gets together for a Christmas party a couple of days before Christmas. It is at the same house, with the same food, and Santa always comes. It is a tradition that has been going on as long as I have been alive. I have pictures of myself, as a baby sitting on Santa's lap. We always have ham, set salads aka. jello salads, cheesy potatoes (or funeral potatoes) a green salad and ice cream for dessert. It is a meal straight from the 50's, but I can't complain it is yummy.
It is also great because since Santa comes we don't have to go out of our way to find him at the mall or some other location. He comes and gives all of the kids a gift, we sing a couple of Christmas songs and then he is on his way to finish his work at the North Pole.
My kids are at such different stages this year. Joshua was scared of Santa. Grace is completely enamored by Santa and especially Rudolph. We sang Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer over and over again. She also asked an endless array of questions about Santa like, "Does he have a door in his house or does he just use his chimney?" and "Does he eat anything besides cookies?" With Caroline it was all business as far as Santa was concerned and Hannah is at the 'I don't know what to think about Santa anymore stage.'

Not so happy about being with Santa.

Loving the book Santa brought him.
