I Feel Validated- Or Am I

Yesterday, John and I had a particularly trying day both with kids at home and teaching our classes at church. Caroline and I had left in the evening to attend an 8 is Great Fireside and John stayed home since we couldn't get a babysitter. When I came home John said, "I don't know how you do it. If I were you I would get a babysitter to come in one day a week just to get away." I replied, "Where would you go?" He said, "I don't know, I'd just go sit in my car or something, just for a break...and listen to sports radio." Love it! Although he got to leave for work this morning and I am doing a gazillion loads of laundry, which I just sorted and found a number of things that had not been worn but thrown in their laundry baskets. GRRRR. No wonder I have so much laundry to do.

While we are on the subject of parenting woes, last night Caroline came down and got in bed with us sometime after midnight. Then at 3:30 Josh woke up. I went into his room and he was standing up in his bed. I got him out to rock him and he squirmed down to the floor. I followed him out to the kitchen where he pointed and cried at the fridge, so I opened it. He looked inside for a minute and then shut the door and walked back to his room. I changed his diaper and he went back to bed. Whatever, at least he didn't stay up crying about who knows what. Then Grace came down to our room so now there are four of us in a queen size bed. Finally, she said she wasn't comfy (no kidding, neither were we) and wanted to go back to her bed. So I took her back upstairs, but Hannah was in her bed, so I told her to get into Caroline's bed, but she wanted her bed. So I woke Hannah up and told her to get into Caroline's bed so Grace could get back into her bed.

That takes us to this morning where Grace just threw-up her breakfast a half hour ago and is now laying on the couch with a bucket and Joshua ate chocolate chips for breakfast. No, I did not give them to him, but he climbed up the pantry and got them down, and it was easier to let him eat them then take them away since I was cleaning up throw-up at this point. Maybe I should take John up on the babysitter idea.

That does not sound like FUN! It is so funny to hear people have the same idea as us--we often think about going away somewhere but where would we go--Target..Walmart--isn't that exciting! Hopefully tonight goes better! We still miss you!
