Girls Weekend

Last summer I decided I wanted to take my girls on a little weekend trip.  I planned to do in October, but honestly every weekend had a conflict!  By the time January came around I had kind of forgot about it.  But then Spring Break came and we didn't have any plans so I decided it would be a great time to head to Salt Lake for the weekend.

With five kids it is so hard to get one on one time or even small group time.  I always feel bad leaving someone out, but with ages ranging from 12-2 they don't all have the same abilities or interests.  It wasn't an ideal girls weekend since we had to have the boys for most of Friday, we all just hung out at the hotel until I was able to drop the boys off with John.  Then we headed to dinner and a play at Desert Theater.

The next morning after a yummy breakfast at the hotel I shared a conference address from the Young Women's Conference about kindness.  They listened ok.  Hopefully they took some of it in.  Then we walked to the new shopping mall in downtown SLC and spent some time checking it out.  We went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub for awhile before checking out and going home.

The girls trip was short and sweet.  Little bits of drama, but not much.  I would love to make it a tradition and go on big and better girls trips in the future, but it was a good starting point.

These are pictures of each of my girls.  I am getting way too many wrinkles, but I guess when I am 50 I'll look back and think I looked great.
