Grace's Birthday...I am so behind

Grace had a birthday.  A long time ago.  I can't believe I have let this blog go so long without writing about our lives.

Grace had a friend birthday this year with lots of cute little girls from our neighborhood and school.  We had lunch and made flip-flops with fabric tied on them.  Julie W. gave me a bunch of beach themed decorations and we made the place look cute.  Everyone was thrilled because usually I am not one to buy a lot of decorations so they were shocked at the elaborate display, good thing I don't have pics, you would be disappointed.  Better to remember it in our minds.

So Grace is a spit-fire.  She is little but can hold her own just fine.  She has a competitive streak (notice shirt) and always wants life to be fair.  She always speaks in superlatives. :) I never, she always, you promised. Oh, it can be fun with Grace.

The other day a friend of mine who has twin boys that are Grace's age was telling me that when their dad coaches them in soccer he is always (superlative) telling them to be more aggressive like Grace.  So when their soccer teams played the other day and the twins team won, they felt like they had won the World Cup since they had beat Grace.

Here are 7 things about Grace:

1.  She is competitive (see above)
2.  She is always ready on time.  If I ask her to go get ready she does so quickly.  Thank you Grace.  I love that about you.
3.  She likes to ride her bike to school.
4.  She is becoming a good reader.  She has really had to work hard at it, spending extra time each day reading, but I am proud of her for her hard work and desire to get better.
5.  She is a chatterbox with her friend Olivia at church.  I am always telling them to stop talking and start singing or listening.
6.  She likes to eat tortillas with powered sugar on them.
7.  She is one good kid and we are so happy she is in our family.  She has tons of personality and says funny things that we laugh at.  She has a lot of confidence and will do great things in her life.

Grace has wanted a Hawaiian themed party ever since Caroline did one a couple of years ago.  The girls wore lei's, tied cute fabric on flip flops, played Just Dance and of course ate.

At one point Grace was upset about something.  Hmmm can't remember what.  I think it may have had to do with the pinnate.  She ran off crying and refused to finish her birthday party, but Anne Marie swooped in to save the day offering compassion that her mother didn't have and promising her untold gifts.
These two share the same birthday week.

We love you Grace.  Happy Belated Birthday.

You look beautiful Kristen and the girls are darling too!!! I'm so jealous of you and all these daughters. I missed out on sisters and now could have used a few extra daughters. Thank goodness for Sage!!! Love reading about the kids.
