Happy Birthday Grace

Well Grace went and did it, she turned 5. Five, wait I thought Hannah just turned 5. Where is the time going? These kids are growing up so dang fast. We started celebrating her birthday two weeks ago since we knew the baby was on his way a few days before her birthday so two weeks ago we had a Valentines Birthday Party.

We played duck-duck-goose. A favorite with 5 year olds.

Had a tea-party with Grandma Brinton's old fashioned luncheon trays complete with pb&j heart shaped sandwiches, chips, grapes, and pink lemonade.

Decorated valentines day cookies and made valentines day cards.

Painted nails.

Opened presents.

And of course ate cupcakes and ice cream.

Grandma and Granpa H. had a party with her while I lay in the hospital bed. On Friday, Grandma and Granpa G. took her out to dinner and shopping for a birthday present. Then yesterday we had another party, wait didn't I say after Caroline's 3 parties that we were only going to do one. We went to Grandma and Grandpa G. rode the 4-wheeler, played games that Aunt Lisa and Hannah put together, had pizza and cake and ice cream.

Then last night I think it hit her that there were no more parties or presents and her birthday wasn't even until the next day. We didn't plan very well and had given her all of her presents, we should have held out our presents for the actual day. Well, tears came and I wasn't very patient with it since I wasn't feeling that great anyway. Luckily we had forgotten to give her one gift, chocolate milk, so this morning we pulled that out and put it in a gift bag and voila, she said it was her favorite gift. Kids!

Well here are my 5 favorite things about Grace this year.

1. She loves to play with her siblings. As long as she has Caroline near by she doesn't need other friends to play with.

2. She is quick to do what I ask whether it is to clean up, put on p.j.'s or get into bed she is usually the first to respond.

3. She is easy going, but has a spit-fire temper when she gets mad.

4. She is sweet as can be. Her preschool teacher says she is nice to everyone is always the first one to do what they ask.

5. I always wanted blue eyes growing up, but now I LOVE her big brown eyes. I feel like I am looking into my eyes when I was her age.

LOVE YOU GRACE!
