Benjamin Had a Birthday

 Yeah Benjamin turned 3!  Three year olds birthdays are pretty low key around here.  Birthday parties stress me out more than anything else.  Having to entertain and keep happy a dozen 3,5,or 7 year olds seriously makes me stressed and worried, so I don't start the friend party until they are 5.  I know that sounds terrible.  We have a family party and invite everyone, I make a special cake and we open presents, but I put off the big one as long as I can.

As you can tell from the pictures I am no better about doing boys hair than I am girls hair.  I am sorry children, but if you want to blame someone blame Hannah.  Battling with her over hair did me in, I haven't done it since.

 Spiderman cake.  It is amazing how easy it is to decorate a cake (ok not to the proffesional level, that is hard) with the right colors.  Even a bad job looks good when the right colors are involved.

 Opening presents again with big brothers help.  Don't let it fool you though, Benjamin is pretty darn good at sticking up for himself.  Today I saw him hit Josh on the head with an empty soda bottle because he was bugging him.  Now he did get wacked back and ended up crying in a heap on the floor, but he is a capable little kid.

Some things about Benjaimin that we love at age 3
1. He is independent.
2. He loves to be outside.  He will get up in the morning and go outside and wander around the house.
3. He dresses himself (Josh still wants me to dress him).  Note shirt in above pictures.
4. He only will drink soy milk.  I tried switching to rice and right away he rejected it.
5. He has terrible eczema.  I feel bad for him and hope he outgrows it soon.
6. He started playing t-ball on Joshua's team and loves it.  He is so dang cute out there with his mit and baseball hat!
7.He is very shy around almost anyone other than family.  He won't look at people when they try and talk to him but he is not at all shy at home.
8. When Josh is not around he is a pretty easy kid, when he is with Josh they are crazy!
9. He is a hard worker.  He loves to work and will usually start doing things on his own.
10. He will be a perfect last child.
