Twelve Years and Counting

Today marks our 12th wedding anniversary.  It should be exciting, but.... we have two different sickness that are making their way through each of the kids.  Joshua started out with a cold and cough two weeks ago that turned into an ear infection.  Now Benjamin has a runny nose and a bad cough.  Caroline came down with some type of virus that gives you a terrible headache and makes you throw up.  Her head hurt so bad last week that I thought about taking her in for a blood test and brain scan because I was sure that she had either leukemia- although she had no signs of leukemia or a brain tumor.  I am a bit of worry wart.  Grace came down with it Monday while she was at Grandma H.  and now Hannah has it.  It only lasts 24 hours, but it is a miserable 24 hours.  I am just waiting for it to hit me.  I really hope the little boys don't get it, at least the girls can throw up in the toliet or a bucket.  So happy annivesay.  As I was cleaning the kitchen and cleaning up throw up buckets I thought about the last 12 years and what we have done to celebrate.  Here is a list, although a couple of years are a little foggy.

1999 We had dinner at a nice little restaurant in NYC, and sat on the patio.  We then went to the top of the Empire State Building.  It was actually very romantic.
2000 I made a spaghetti dinner and stayed in.  Hannah was a baby and we weren't ready to leave her yet.
2001 Chinese take out and went to a museum in NYC while my mom watched Hannah.
2002 We went to Newport, RI.  Our good friends the Larsen's watched Hannah.  I was 8 months pregnant with Caroline and we ate outside on the wharf were there was a live band playing.  They played Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.  We had been considering the name Caroline and that sealed the deal.
2003 Ate at Ruth's Chris in CT.
2004 We ate at a nice restuarant in Des Moines, Iowa.  Our realtor in CT had sent us a $100 gift certificate for referring our neighbors, so we used that.
2005 We ate at a nice resourt restauarant in Phoenix, AZ.  We were going to go on a condola ride, but Grace was a baby and I thought we better get back to her.  We were going to go back and do it another time, but never made it back.
2006 ?
2007 We stayed overnight at a Marriott resort.  Went to dinner, slept in, swam, boutght an ipod and went to the temple the next morning.
2008 ?
2009 Went to dinner in SLC, yummy steaks.

Making this list makes me realize we need to come up with something more exciting than just eating out.  This year, praying that we are all well by Friday we are going to go stay overnight at the cabin.  Benjamin will be with us since he absolutely refuses to take a bottle.  Oh well.  At least we will be doing something different.

Happy anniversary John.  So glad I married you. Can't get the scanner to work, so no cute pics of us on our wedding day.

I'm soooo sorry for all the sickness in your family. No fun at all. Breaks my heart for your little ones. Hope you are spared! Seeing your anniversary list makes me want to compile one of my own. I'm impressed you remembered so much. My favorite is 2002. Love that story :)

alright, you have inspired me to go through scrapbooks, blogs, and that's all I have since I don't keep any other sort of journal to figure out what we have done for ours! I think ours were pretty boring and sadly most of ours probably didn't even include a dinner out so your log looks pretty exciting to me!!!
