She must have loved that tradition as well because she has continued it with the grandkids. It is a little different, instead of going to the mall she takes them to Justice. Their choice. I am sure it will change in a few years, but as for now they LOVE that store. It is totally geared to 'the tween', and since I have 'a tween' and two younger sisters that think 'the tween' is the greatest thing ever that is where they choose to shop as well. It is great for me because Justice is totally overpriced, so I am totally fine letting Grandma take them there.
This year Justice was having a sale, they have a lot of those there. The sale was ending that day, and although I am sure another one would have started the next week, one of the girls wanted to miss the opportunity to shop at Justice while a sale was going on. So grandma took them back to back with lunch promised for another day.
Here are some pictures from the day, showing off their new clothes.
Grandma Howard also has taken them back to school shopping the last couple of years, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures from that day. With two such great grandma's I didn't even have to take them shopping.
This one is not shy in front of the camera.

Let's hope Grandma is still up for this when I have kids!
i remember the Tiffin Room well. it was mine and mom's tradition too. if i wasn't so much older than you i'd say we might have seen each other a few times :) mom always let me get a chocolate malt in the big fancy sundae glasses. it was heaven and means more to me now than ever. thanks for reminding me.
