Trees, Trees and More Trees!

Trees, Trees and More Trees.  That is what we have been up to lately.

Last year when we moved into our home we immediately put in the sprinkling system as well as the the grass, but we waited on the rest of the landscaping.  Since our neighborhood is newer, most of the homes did not have all of their landscaping done.  However, one of our neighbors moved from Oregon where he owned an industrial landscaping company.  They did all of the colleges, freeways, and many large companies in Oregon, so he had contacts with many nuseries that supply trees to local nurseries and we were able to get trees at a wholesale prices.  So with the help of Brother Washburn our neighborhood began to come alive as we ordered trees.  The excitement grew and over 15 families ordered trees that came on 3 large semi-trucks over the period of three weeks.

Our home pre trees.

Stage two, holes dug.  Twenty four in all.

The first semi-truck arrives to aarge fanfare.  It was suppossed to arrive around noon on Saturday, it finally pulled in around eight o'clock at night.  This is just a small portion of the neighborhood that showed up.  We hadn't seen so much excitement - ever.  However, by the end of the night the excitement had worn off when at midnight we were still trying to get trees and bushes to the right homes.

We had to use a bobcat and about three guys in the truck to get these large trees off the truck and delivered to the homes.
The first tree off.  Look at that thing.  It was beautiful.

Week two, notice how no one went out to meet the truck.  I didn't even take a picture of the third truck.  The excitement had totally worn off by then. :)
The trees lined up from the second truck.
We did a lot of this.  More pictures to come of the final product.  Actually it is still a work in progress and will be for some time, but for now at least all 24 trees are planted.

Holy HANNAH!!! That is a lot of trees! I bet your landscaping will look amazing. How nice that the whole neighborhood got involved. Your home is already beautiful but I'm sure that will be icing on the cake!!! Can't wait to see the final product. I can't remember if I told you we are baptizing the boys on July 24th in UT. If you are around we'd love to see you. And we'd love to have you at their baptism!!! :)

Your house looks beautiful and I know we will be extremely jealous in the summer when everything is green instead of burnt!
