On Memorial Day we went up to Morgan, Utah. It is a small little town in the mountains above Ogden. It is a beautiful and I don't think it has grown even one person in population since the early 1900's.
My Grandma Brinton was born and raised there by her mother. Her father died before she was born from the Flu Epidemic of 1918. Her mother raised 5 children all by herself. My Grandma Brinton died when I was 8 and my Grandpa Brinton died 2 years ago in 2007. She and my Grandpa Brinton are both buried there on the family plot which looks out over Morgan and is up against the mountain. I must say it is one of the most beautiful places for a cemetary. I hope they still come on Memorial Day and enjoy the view.
My mother always went there as a child and I have gone every year that I have lived in Utah. We meet at the cemetery and then head down to the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers) building for lunch. When we were younger we would hike to the "M" on the mountain, play in the irrigation ditch, plan treasure hunts, eat snow cones and Creamies, and just play outside. I am glad that the tradition lives on. It is a beautiful place and it is fun to see the cousins and their kids that live in the area or are in-town visiting.

What a cool grandma!
After Morgan we headed to the Howards for a b-b-q. They live on a great lake that is really peaceful.
Moments like this make me have hope that the girls will be best friends one day. When they are playing well together it is great. When they are on each other I wish I had a boy between them to divide them up.
John's cousin Jackie and her kids were their visiting.
